Description of Presentation

Moodle is a learning management system, focused on  supporting  specific and typical management processes of its own area of competence. It has some "operational" reports, the effectiveness of which strongly depends on the correct implementation of the system.

As all management systems, it generates a large amount of "data", but does not have the capability to transform  them into useful "information" in order to make decision, including strategic ones.

To meet these needs, in fact, are available specific methodologies and dedicated technologies, typically implemented according to OLAP paradigms.

Furthermore, decision-making processes are normally based on information that integrate different kind of data, from different systems and sources (LMS, HR, administration, payroll, accounting  ...).

Therefore a genuine Decision Support System (DSS) can not be simply achieved through the application of a technological tool for data analysis, no matter how advanced, to a single management system.

For this reason Humanage opted for a more ambitious solution, building a proposal which provides the availability of an authentic DSS, verticalized on the characteristics needs of corporate training, and open to highly personlized management systems (capable of undermine the usual standardized analysis tools), both to other types of data, which however must be properly integrated with the management data.

There is an ETL tool, for powering such DSS starting from a Moodle database, "ready to use” if the database is properly implemented.

The device includes tools for multidimensional analysis and the implementation of dashboards for the graphical representation of measures and key indicators. In addition it can be completed by a tool for planning and management control.
